In 2019, the Hotel August opened its doors. The name refers to the Saint Augustine’s Monastery and military hospital in the city of Antwerp, Belgium where the hotel is located. The former Monastery forms the so-called „Groen Kwartier“ of Antwerp and artfully integrates the redbrick buildings with the Flemish-influenced facades. Renowned archtitect Vincent Van Duysen revived the classic building and transformed it into a modern hotel. The building features distinctive designs while retaining its existing aesthetics. Each of the 44 rooms is individually furnished and features hand-glazed tiles and marble vanity tops in the bathrooms.
The August is located in five historic buildings whose original design has been preserved through the elaborate restoration of floor tiles, high wooden ceilings and arched windows. With simple shapes, natural materials and subtle colours, a modern and pure ambience has been created, which is accentuated by designer pieces. The restaurant is located in the former church, while the kitchen is in the sanctuary. Today, the hotel bar is located in the monastery chapel, with natural stone pilasters lining the walls.
Lithofin products are regularly used for the tiles and surfaces made of natural stone in order to clean the special ambience in a way that maintains its value in the long term. Small surfaces and tables are cleaned with Lithofin MN Easy-Clean. Lithofin MN Easy-Care is regularly used for mopping the floors in the bar, restaurant and lobby. For the annual basic cleaning or deeper-seated stains in the natural stone pores, Lithofin MN Power-Clean provides a quick and reliable remedy.

For almost 900 employees of the Hessian police, a striking new building with a net floor space of around 68,400 m² was built during the construction period from 2018 - 2021. By bundling them in one place, the consolidation of central organisational units at one location is made possible. In addition to the necessary high safety requirements, it was possible to give the building an inviting character.
The flooring of the foyer was designed with Anröchter Grün limestone, which originates from Germany. The grey-green colouring gives the entrance area a touch of purist elegance. To effectively protect the material from water, oil and grease stains, Lithofin STAINSTOP >W< was applied to an area of approx. 1,000 m². The water-based impregnation protects absorbent ceramic, natural and concrete stone coverings against stains. It also facilitates further maintenance care.

The Diözesanmuseum Rottenburg is one of the oldest diocesan museums in Germany and traces its origins back to the purchase of the collection of old German paintings in 1862. Reconstruction measures in 1992 have since enabled the building to be used as a museum. The floor in the foyer and museum area was laid with the high-maintenance Italian sandstone Pietra Serena. Over time, this had built up dark layers of dirt and care products, which meant that the original colour and structure were no longer recognisable.
A basic cleaning of the floor covering in the museum area was carried out in 2016 to 2017. To protect the exhibits, the humidity was always monitored during the cleaning work.
In sections, the alkaline special cleaner Lithofin ASR was applied by machine. Neutralisation was achieved by applying highly diluted Lithofin MN Builders' Clean. Finally, the natural stone was impregnated with the water-based product Lithofin STAINSTOP >W< to permanently facilitate maintenance cleaning. For optimal maintenance of the fine-rough material, the purchase of a battery-operated cleaning machine was recommended. This has since been used successfully with Lithofin MN Easy-Care.

The state Parliament building was opened in 1961 as the first genuine new parliament building to be constructed in the 20th century on the European continent. Over the course of the last three years the building was completely renovated in order to stay at the state of the art.
As part of the restoration process a total area of 2,500 square meters of honed Travertine were restored to their original appearance.
In a first step adhesive residues had to be removed with Lithofin WAX-OFF. Subsequently care product residues were quickly and efficiently removed with the alkaline special cleaner Lithofin ASR.
After mechanical cleaning with a polishing machine, Lithofin MN Power-Clean was used to remove all further construction residues. Once clean and dry, the natural stone surfaces were carefully treated with an impregnator. Exterior surfaces were treated with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop whilst the interiors were protected with Lithofin STAINSTOP >W<. Both products protect natural stone against the penetration of water, oil, grease and general dirt while at the same time facilitating maintenance.

Perth’s State Building, also known as the Old Treasury Buildings, form one of Western Australia’s most significant heritage precincts. With a history spanning 140 years, these three interconnected buildings had been vacant for almost 20 years.
Prior to construction Lithofin Australia was approached by Built Construction to specify cleaning, protection and future maintenance system for a variety of natural stone including travertine bathroom tiles and mosaics and limestone vanities located in the hotels bathrooms.
Builders’ dirt and grout residues were softened and removed from the bathroom floors and walls with Lithofin MN Power-Clean using a nylon pad attached to a floor scrubbing machine so as not to damage the composition of the stone surface. Once clean and dry, all surfaces were carefully treated with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop protecting the tiles, mosaics, vanities and grout lines from the penetration of water, oil, grease and general dirts while facilitating maintenance.
Regular cleaning is being completed with Lithofin MN Easy-Care to remove dirt residues while preserving the stone.

The 4-star superior Hotel Therme Bad Teinach is located in the northern Black Forest. Architecturally, a mix of aesthetics and elegant, natural materials was created. This concept also characterises the newly designed spa area.
High-quality tiles and natural stone made of Brazilian quartzite and Nero Assoluto were laid and grouted over an area of more than 3,000 m². The selection of suitable materials was challenging due to the high sodium content of the Teinacher mineral water. Due to its properties in terms of slip resistance, degree of hardness and resistance to environmental influences, the light yellow Brazilian quartzite used is ideally suited for use in the swimming pool and wellness area of the Hotel Therme Bad Teinach.
To protect the laid natural stone surfaces, the surfaces were impregnated with Lithofin STAINSTOP >W< before grouting with epoxy resin mortar. In this way, residues could be quickly removed from the surfaces and deposits caused by the water could be prevented.
Based on a water analysis by the Bad Teinach municipal administration, Lithofin prepared a property-specific cleaning recommendation. In this way, the material properties and appearance of the materials should be preserved in the long term.

The only pair of panda bears currently living in Germany moved into their new home at Berlin Zoo on 5 July 2017, which they will inhabit for the next 15 years. A new state-of-the-art enclosure with more than 5,000 m² was built to ensure species-appropriate husbandry.
Apart from Berlin Zoo, only seven other zoos in Europe are home to panda bears. The visitors' area was therefore to be uniquely designed to invite visitors to linger. For this purpose, curved forms were made of concrete in an elaborate special production. The challenge in the final installation of round elements was to create a seamless transition. Beton und Naturstein Babelsberg (BNB) succeeded beyond doubt. Since 2017, zoo visitors have been able to marvel at the panda bears while lingering on high-quality seating. These are made in such a way that they also serve as a bed border in a harmonious bamboo design.
To keep the material stain-free and bright for the numerous visitors in the long term, the concrete was treated with the impregnation Lithofin STAINSTOP >W<. In this way, the protective treatment has an oil-, water- and stain-repellent effect and prevents staining.

The Kolumba Museum presents art in a unique setting: it is built on top of the ruins of an old Gothic church in the middle of downtown Cologne, Germany. The 'New Building', designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, combines the unique archaeological excavation skilfully with the modern. Sponsored by the Archbishopric of Cologne, the Museum's concept is to be a place of reflection.
A bright spectrum of art works can be admired in the 'New Building' of the Diocesemuseum, founded in 1853. The extraordinary collection extends from the late antiquity to the modern present. The paintings and sculptures are displayed in 17 rooms with an exhibition space total of 1,750m².
A total of 2,000 m² of the exhibition space, stairways and the administration are done in Terraplan, a type of Terrazzo. Lithofin MPP was used to polish the surface to a high gloss. The final treatment was Lithofin MN Stain-Stop to make the surface water and oil repellent as well as low-maintenance.

Aachen Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in northern Europe. Charlemagne began the construction of the Palatine Chapel, the heart of the structure, at the end of the 8th century. It is the coronation church of more than 30 German kings, burial site of Charlemagne, major pilgrimage church and since 1930 cathedral church of the Aachen diocese. In 1978 it was the first German building to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Finally, after completing two decades of restoration work on the outside of the impressive structure in 2006, restorations on the precious inside finally began.
Over 2,000 m² of marble within the Palatine Chapel, also known as the Octagon for its distinctive octagonal central area, are encrusted by a stubborn layer of dirt, soot, and grease. Additionally, the combination of humidity and carbon dioxide has weathered the marble over the years. The marble slabs have been used as flooring, wall panels, columns -which were shipped from the ancient buildings of Rome and Ravenna- as well as a marble throne.
The restoration work of some parts of the marble has begun. First it is mechanically re-polished, and then three coats of Lithofin MN Polish Cream are applied. These steps clean and protect the stone surface. At the planned completion of the work in 2011, a total of approx. 2,400 m² will have been treated in this way.
