An investment in the future
26/10/2023Lithofin Operations Manager Ralf Spohn's careful planning of the expansion of raw material storage capacities is finally bearing fruit. True to the motto "Good things take time", the storage tanks have now been delivered to Lithofin with the final approval of the TÜV. The installation of the double-walled tanks was extremely spectacular, as they had to be loaded onto their location via the roof during operation. All tanks are equipped with the latest technology and linked to modern production lines.
Garvin Stingel, third-generation managing director, is investing in the future of the family-run, medium-sized company by building production halls and warehouses. According to the Managing Director, logistics optimisation and security in the storage of raw materials are two factors that inevitably contribute to securing the location. By significantly expanding its raw material storage capacities, Lithofin sees an opportunity to meet the challenges of the future and to ensure stability in times of unpredictable price fluctuations and bottlenecks.
At the same time, the logistics process becomes more efficient. By optimising the logistics and shipping processes, transport costs and volumes are now saved. By filling the storage tanks directly, deliveries of raw materials in much smaller containers are reduced, thus avoiding packaging material that would otherwise be required for transport. At the same time, CO2 emissions are reduced as fewer journeys are required overall.
The medium-sized company already has large storage areas for the end products in order to be able to deliver at any time. This, combined with larger raw material storage capacities, enables better organisation of the production process.
Lithofin secures long-term competitive advantages through resource efficiency, expansion of storage capacities, reduction of emissions and waste minimisation. The aim is to be a sustainable and responsible chemical company that invests in the future and continues to be a reliable employer for its employees in the Stuttgart metropolitan region.
